Mozambique defender Diogo Calila close to joining MAS Fès from Santa Clara
Mozambique international defender Diogo Calila is close to completing a move to Moroccan club MAS Fès from Portuguese side Santa Clara.
The transfer is understood to be nearing completion, with MAS Fès set to pay around €100,000 for the defender, in addition to performance-related bonuses.
Calila is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Moroccan club once the final details of the agreement are completed.
The move would bring an end to Calila’s spell with Santa Clara, where he has featured in Portuguese football after developing his career in the country.
The 26-year-old has also established himself at international level with Mozambique, adding experience to the defensive options available to MAS Fès.
MAS Fès are keen to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign and see Calila as a player capable of providing defensive solidity and experience.
The Moroccan side are now expected to finalise the remaining formalities before officially announcing the signing.
Calila’s arrival would represent another step in his career as he prepares for a new challenge in Moroccan football, with the two-year agreement set to keep him at MAS Fès through the 2027-28 season.
