Bayern want Sacha Boey to leave before deadline

Bayern Munich are pushing for Sacha Boey to leave before the transfer window closes, with sporting director Max Eberl making the club’s position clear.

The right-back was also left out of the latest team photo for sponsor Paulaner’s Lederhosen shoot, underlining how far he has slipped from the club’s plans.

Boey primarily serves in a squad depth role at right-back, competing with versatile players like Joshua Kimmich for starting opportunities in Bayern’s competitive defense.

Eberl said Bayern had already explained the situation to the player. “Regarding Sacha Boey, we have clearly communicated what the plan is. We would like to let him leave, but what happens by September 1 remains to be seen,” he said.

Boey joined Bayern from Galatasaray in January 2024, but his spell in Munich has not gone as hoped. He has struggled to secure a regular role at the Bundesliga champions and now faces an uncertain final stretch of the summer window.

Sacha Boey began his involvement in organized football at the age of 11, joining the youth ranks of local club FC Romainville in 2011, where he initially played casually in district-level matches.

Bayern are waiting to see whether a suitable offer arrives before the deadline. If no club meets their expectations, Boey could remain in Munich despite the clear intention to move him on.
