Felix Uduokhai makes Bundesliga return in €1.5m move to Union Berlin

German-Nigerian centre-back Felix Uduokhai has joined Union Berlin from Besiktas for €1.5m, returning to the Bundesliga after two seasons in Turkey.

The 28-year-old defender completed the move on 27 August 2026 and becomes a Union Berlin player after leaving Besiktas, where he had spent the previous two campaigns. His arrival takes him back to Germany, the country of his birth and the setting for the majority of his senior career.

Uduokhai initially moved to Besiktas from Augsburg on loan in August 2024, with the Turkish club paying a €500,000 loan fee. That arrangement ended with a permanent transfer on 1 July 2025, when Besiktas paid €5m to sign him.

The 1.93m centre-back began his senior career with 1860 Munich before joining Wolfsburg in July 2017. He spent time on loan at Augsburg during the 2019-20 season, then completed a €7m move to the club in July 2020.

A left-footed defender, Uduokhai has been registered as a centre-back throughout his senior career. His return to Germany places him back in the Bundesliga with Union Berlin, while ending his spell in the Turkish top flight.

Uduokhai’s most recent competitive records before the transfer show no appearances in the 2026-27 Super Lig or Europa League qualifying campaigns. He now switches from Besiktas to Union Berlin, with the deal completed for €1.5m.
