The African Union’s main refereeing committee has appointed Egyptian referee Amin Omar to officiate the South Africa vs. Nigeria match in the semi-final stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast.
The officiating team includes Amin Omar as the main referee, assisted by Mahmoud Abu Elregal and Ahmed Hossam Taha.
The fourth official is Mohamed Ismail from Sudan, and Algerian Lahoucine Ben Brahim will act as the VAR referee.
Somali Omar Qurtan is appointed as the AVAR, and Diana VAR A from Zambia will also be part of the officiating team.
In another significant appointment, the international refereeing committee selected Mahmoud Ashour to join the VAR officiating team for the Ivory Coast vs. Congo match in the semi-final as well.
