Mali-Ivory Coast midfielder Rominigue Kouame parts company with Cadiz CF

Mali-Ivory Coast midfielder Rominigue Kouame has left Cadiz CF and is now without a club after ending his spell with the Spanish side on 26 August 2026.

The 29-year-old central midfielder’s departure brings his time at Cadiz to a close after three seasons with the club. Kouame joined Cadiz from French side Troyes in September 2023 for €2.5m, having previously helped Troyes win the French second tier in the 2020-21 season.

Kouame spent part of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Chicago before returning to Cadiz at the end of 2025. He made two appearances in LaLiga2 during the opening stages of the 2026-27 season, playing 93 minutes and receiving two yellow cards.

A left-footed midfielder, Kouame began his senior career in Mali with JMG Bamako before moving to Real in 2014. He joined Lille’s reserve side two years later and subsequently spent time with Lille’s first team, Paris FC and Cercle Brugge on loan.

His association with Troyes included two spells. He first moved there temporarily from Lille in 2019-20, returned to Lille at the end of that season and then joined Troyes again on a permanent basis in July 2021. He left for Cadiz two years later.

Kouame’s career has also included spells in both France’s top two divisions and Spain’s top flight. He was part of the Cadiz squad relegated from La Liga in the 2023-24 season, his second such relegation after Troyes went down from France’s top division in 2022-23.

Born in Lopou on 17 December 1996, Kouame stands 1.77m tall and has a market value of €600,000. His highest recorded market value was €5m.

The midfielder’s latest move was registered on 26 August, with Kouame leaving Cadiz CF and becoming without a club.
