PSG join race for Ivory Coast and Strasbourg defender Guéla Doué

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly entered the race for Strasbourg defender Guéla Doué as they assess options to strengthen their defensive ranks.

According to reports, PSG have already opened preliminary discussions with the 23-year-old’s representatives over a possible move to the French champions.

Although no agreement has been reached at this stage, Doué is understood to have caught the attention of the Parisian club because of his versatility.

The Ivorian can operate at right-back but is also capable of filling in at centre-back, giving PSG greater flexibility in defence.

Doué remains under contract with Strasbourg until 2029 and is reportedly valued at around €40 million.

PSG are not the only club monitoring his situation. Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are also said to have identified the Ivorian as a priority target as they look to reinforce the right side of their defence.

A move to Paris would have an additional attraction for Doué, as it would see him reunite with his younger brother Désiré Doué, who has been with PSG since making the switch to the capital in the summer of 2024.

Guéla Doué enjoyed a productive campaign with Strasbourg last season, making 34 appearances across all competitions, including eight outings in the Conference League.

The defender contributed nine goal involvements during the campaign, scoring twice and providing seven assists.

With PSG and Leverkusen both reportedly interested, Doué’s future could become one of the stories to follow as the transfer window approaches its final stages.
