The 4th day of the Champions League turned out to be catastrophic for Lille, as the French club suffered a heavy defeat against Bayern Munich (6-1). This loss has essentially eliminated Lille’s hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 in the competition. The only goal for Lille was scored by Ivorian international Salomon Kalou in the 57th minute. Despite the defeat, Lille still has matches against Borisov and Valencia in November and December, which will influence their qualification for the Europa League.
