AS Roma ready to cash in on Morocco midfielder Nael El Aynaoui amid Saudi interest

Italian giants AS Roma are willing to cash in on Moroccan international Nael El Aynaoui in the current transfer window amid growing interest from Saudi Arabia clubs.

According to reports, Roma have placed a valuation of around €35 million on the 25-year-old, although the reported Saudi interest has yet to develop into a formal offer.

Roma’s asking price is understood to be influenced by the club’s financial situation and the potential accounting profit that could be generated from El Aynaoui’s sale.

The Moroccan midfielder joined Roma from Lens in the summer of 2025 on a contract running until 2030. The transfer reportedly cost the Italian side around €23 million, with a further €2 million potentially payable in add-ons.

A €35 million sale would therefore represent a significant financial gain for Roma as they look to raise funds while navigating UEFA’s financial regulations.

Despite the growing speculation, there has been no indication of a concrete proposal from Saudi Arabia, and the identity of the clubs interested in El Aynaoui has not been revealed.

El Aynaoui made the move to Roma following an impressive spell with Lens and quickly established himself as an important member of the Italian side. He finished last season with one goal and two assists, while recording an impressive 89 percent pass-completion rate.

His performances have also attracted attention from several European clubs. Previous reports have linked him with Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool, as well as Turkish club Fenerbahçe.

His market value has previously been estimated at between €35 million and €40 million, underlining his growing reputation since making the switch from Lens to Roma.

With the transfer window approaching its final stages, El Aynaoui’s future remains uncertain. Roma could consider a sale if a Saudi club submits an offer close to their €35 million valuation, but for now, the midfielder remains a Roma player.
