Didier Drogba has decided to stay in China and will not be making a move to a European club before the resumption of the Chinese championship. Despite interest from clubs like Juventus and Liverpool, the Ivorian striker prefers to continue his journey with Shanghai Shenhua.
Drogba expressed his commitment to preparing for the next season with Shanghai Shenhua, stating, “I hope to start preparing next season with my teammates. If our results were not good, it was because I arrived late. So I didn’t prepare for the season with the club.” Drogba joined Shanghai Shenhua in July 2012 and has scored 8 goals in 11 matches.
While the club has faced challenges, including the departure of the French coach Jean Tigana and delays in player salary payments, Drogba remains motivated. Shanghai Shenhua currently occupies the 9th place in the championship, and Drogba aims to contribute to the team’s success and strengthen the ties between China and Africa.
