Sidiki Cherif joins Coventry City

Guinean striker Sidiki Cherif has officially completed his move to newly promoted Premier League side Coventry City for a reported €25 million transfer fee.

The 19-year-old forward penned a long-term contract with the club and is expected to play a huge for the newly promoted Premier League outfit.

“Coventry City FC are delighted to announce the signing of forward Sidiki Cherif on a permanent transfer from Fenerbahçe SK on a long-term contract.”

Cherif has joined Frank Lampard’s side on a five-season contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.

The Guinean striker leaves Fenerbahçe after just six months. He initially joined the Turkish giants on loan from Angers in February 2026, with an obligation for the deal to become permanent.

During his short spell in Turkey, Cherif scored three goals in all competitions.

Before moving to the Turkish Super Lig, the highly rated forward had also impressed in France, scoring four goals in Ligue 1 during the 2025/26 season.

Cherif will now continue his development in England as Coventry City prepare for their return to the Premier League.

Following the completion of his transfer, the teenager expressed his excitement at beginning a new chapter with the English club.

“I’m very happy to be a Coventry City player and I’m excited to be playing in the Premier League.

“I’m looking forward to showing the fans what I can do and to play at the amazing stadium. I can’t wait to get started.”
