Cracovia target SC Paderborn striker Kennedy Okpala
SC Paderborn striker Kennedy Okpala could leave the club before the transfer window closes, with Polish top-flight side KS Cracovia showing concrete interest in the 21-year-old.
The former Waldhof Mannheim forward only joined Paderborn in January, but a new move is already under consideration.
According to Polish outlet Piłka Nożna, Cracovia are keen to sign Okpala and could face competition from Sweden’s AIK Solna. The two clubs are reportedly emerging as the main contenders for the centre-forward, setting up a potential transfer battle in the final weeks of the window.
Paderborn paid around €500,000 to recruit Okpala from Mannheim earlier this year. Since then, he has made 12 appearances for the German side, scoring once and registering one assist. His limited output has not discouraged interested clubs, who appear to value his potential and physical profile.
A departure would give Okpala the opportunity to secure a fresh start and potentially earn more consistent playing time. Cracovia could offer him a chance in the Ekstraklasa, while AIK would provide a route into Sweden’s top division.
No formal bid or agreement has been confirmed. However, with Cracovia’s interest described as serious and AIK also monitoring developments, Paderborn may soon receive a decision-making opportunity over the striker’s future.
