Ivorian striker Florian Danho emerges as Raja Casablanca target
Raja Casablanca are considering a move for French-Ivorian striker Florian Danho as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season.
Danho has been offered to the Moroccan giants during the current summer transfer window as Raja search for an experienced forward capable of improving their goalscoring options.
The move comes as the club prepare for the possible departure of Nigerian striker Mathias Ayossi, who has struggled to make a significant impact since joining the Green Team.
Raja searching for a prolific striker
Raja’s management are working to complete their summer recruitment after already announcing the signings of Younes Dahmani, Shamseddine Kandil, Ishaq Zaidani and Brazilian Luis Felipe Silva.
However, strengthening the attack remains a priority, with the club looking for a forward who can provide more goals than Ayossi managed last season.
The Nigerian scored only five goals in 32 appearances, increasing the pressure on Raja to find an alternative should he leave the club.
Danho’s mixed spell in Tunisia
Danho spent last season with Tunisian giants Espérance de Tunis, where he scored 10 goals in 46 matches.
His performances, however, have divided opinion among Espérance supporters, with sections of the club’s fanbase questioning whether the French-Ivorian has done enough to justify remaining with the team.
There have been growing calls for the striker to leave either on loan or on a permanent transfer before the start of the new campaign.
Experienced European career
The striker has built considerable experience across European football.
He began his career with several French clubs, including SC Palma, Thonon Evian and Martigues, before moving to Switzerland’s Stade Leu in July 2021.
He subsequently spent time on loan at Stade Nyon and Portuguese side Famalicão before joining Danish club Randers in July 2024 for €500,000.
Danho moved to Espérance in September 2025 for €1.10m, taking the total value of his career transfers to €1.60m.
Raja weigh up their options
Raja are yet to finalise a deal for Danho, but his availability has put the 26-year-old among the players being considered as the Moroccan club attempt to build a stronger squad.
With Raja aiming to return to the top of Moroccan football after two seasons without major success, the club’s decision over their next attacking signing could prove crucial.
