Egyptian outfit Pyramids FC announce squad for 2026/27 season

Pyramids FC have unveiled their first-team squad for the 2026/27 season as preparations continue for another demanding campaign on both the domestic and continental fronts.

The Egyptian club will compete in the Egyptian Premier League and the CAF Champions League, with coach Rulani Mokwena set to lead the team into a season in which Pyramids will be aiming to challenge for major honours.

Pyramids stepped up their preparations with an 18-day training camp in Turkey. The camp provided Mokwena and his technical staff with an opportunity to assess the squad ahead of the competitive season.

The team played four friendly matches during their time in Turkey, facing Iranian side Persepolis, Turkish clubs Alanyaspor and Rizespor, as well as Kuwait’s Al-Arabi.

After returning to Cairo, Pyramids continued their preparations with two further friendly matches at the Air Defense Stadium.

They began with an emphatic 6-0 victory over UAE club Modern Dubai before completing their pre-season programme with a 2-1 win against Egyptian side Enppi.

The results have given Mokwena a positive platform as he prepares his players for the start of competitive action.

With a blend of established players and younger talents, Pyramids will now turn their attention to the start of the new campaign, with their domestic ambitions complemented by the challenge of competing against Africa’s best in the Champions League.
