Al Ahly turn down offer for Emam Ashour

Al Ahly have informed Konyaspor that Emam Ashour will not be allowed to leave the club during the current summer transfer window.

The Egyptian giants communicated their decision through an official letter sent to the Turkish club, bringing clarity to the immediate future of the midfielder after weeks of transfer speculation.

Konyaspor had been pushing to sign Ashour and submitted a proposal worth $4.5 million, with the amount reportedly structured to be paid over three years.

Al Ahly, however, rejected the offer and made it clear that the Egypt international is not available for transfer this season.

Ashour’s situation had attracted considerable attention following his impressive performances for Egypt at the 2026 World Cup, which increased interest in his services from abroad.

Konyaspor subsequently emerged as a serious option for the midfielder, but their efforts have now been blocked by Al Ahly’s decision to retain the player.

The Cairo club’s latest response also leaves the door open for future discussions, with Al Ahly indicating that they remain willing to maintain a relationship with Konyaspor and potentially cooperate on a transfer at a later stage.

For now, however, Ashour remains firmly part of Al Ahly’s plans, with the club making it clear that he will stay in Egypt for the 2026/27 season.
