Yayah Kallon seals Olimpija Ljubljana move as Sierra Leone star begins new European chapter
Sierra Leone international winger Yayah Kallon has completed a three-year move to Slovenian top-flight side NK Olimpija Ljubljana, bringing a fresh chapter to his European career.
The 25-year-old attacker joins the Dragons with the expectation of adding pace, creativity and attacking versatility to one of Slovenia’s leading clubs. Kallon will compete in the PrvaLiga as he looks to establish himself in a new footballing environment.
His move to Olimpija follows spells with several clubs in Italy, including Genoa, Hellas Verona, Bari and Casertana, giving him valuable experience across different levels of the European game.
Kallon ready for new challenge
Kallon is relishing the opportunity and is determined to play his part in Olimpija’s ambitions after completing the transfer.
“I’m excited about this new challenge and the chance to contribute to the team’s goals. I look forward to helping my new teammates and winning together,” he said.
The Sierra Leone forward has built a reputation for his direct style and ability to take on defenders in one-on-one situations. His versatility also allows him to operate from either flank or move into a more advanced forward position, offering Olimpija additional options in attack.
No. 79 awaits Sierra Leone star
Kallon will wear the number 79 shirt at Olimpija Ljubljana and is expected to join his new teammates for training on Wednesday morning.
The move represents another opportunity for the former Italian-based attacker to revive his career and make a significant impact outside Italy. With his pace and ability to play across the frontline, Kallon will be hoping to quickly adapt to Slovenian football and become an important figure for the Dragons.
His arrival also adds another experienced attacking option to an Olimpija side aiming to compete strongly in the domestic campaign.
