Marseille have received an initial offer from Dutch club FC Utrecht for 19-year-old forward Tadjidine Mmadi, with a fee of just under €5m reportedly being discussed.

According to RMC Sport, Utrecht have made an approach for the France Under-20 international as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

Mmadi is not short of interest, however, with French side Troyes also monitoring the young Marseille player.

Utrecht make first move

Utrecht are understood to have made the first formal approach for Mmadi, who is reportedly open to the possibility of moving to the Netherlands.

The forward remains under contract with Marseille until 2029, leaving the French club with an important decision to make over his future.

Marseille are looking to raise funds, which could increase the possibility of the club considering a sale if the right offer arrives.

Troyes also in the race

Utrecht face competition from Troyes, who are also interested in signing Mmadi through the City Football Group.

The interest from both clubs comes after the teenager gained valuable first-team experience with Marseille last season.

Mmadi made six appearances in all competitions, scoring once and providing one assist after being introduced to senior football.

Mmadi impresses in pre-season

The young forward has continued to attract attention during Marseille’s preparations for the new campaign.

He has featured under Bruno Genesio in pre-season and scored against Athletic Club, further highlighting his potential.

With Utrecht’s offer reportedly approaching €5m and Troyes also interested, Marseille must now decide whether to keep the France Under-20 international as part of their plans or accept an offer for one of their promising young players
