Senegal forward Ibrahim Mbaye has reportedly agreed personal terms with Liverpool as the Premier League club look to strengthen their attack following the departure of Mohamed Salah.

According to RMC Sport, the 18-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward has reached an agreement with Liverpool over a five-year contract and has chosen the English club ahead of Bayer Leverkusen.

The move would see the Senegal international take another major step in his young career by joining the reigning European champions.

Liverpool turn to PSG talent

Liverpool have been searching for attacking reinforcements this summer after Salah left the club, and PSG’s forward line has emerged as a key area of interest.

France international Bradley Barcola has been one of Liverpool’s main targets throughout the transfer window, with negotiations for the winger continuing.

However, the Reds have now reportedly made significant progress in their pursuit of Mbaye.

Mbaye chooses Anfield

Mbaye, who has featured for PSG during pre-season, has reportedly decided that Liverpool is his preferred destination despite interest from Bayer Leverkusen.

PSG are understood to be open to the possibility of selling the young forward, meaning the reported agreement over personal terms could pave the way for further discussions between the clubs.

For Senegal, Mbaye’s potential move to Liverpool would represent another significant step for a young player from the country’s emerging generation of football talent.

Barcola talks continue

Liverpool’s interest in PSG’s attack does not end with Mbaye.

The Premier League club remain in talks over a possible deal for Barcola, although no agreement has yet been reached.

PSG are reportedly not completely opposed to allowing the France international to leave, meaning Liverpool could potentially make further moves for attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes.

For now, the reported agreement with Mbaye represents an important development as Liverpool reshape their attack following Salah’s departure.
