Ibrahim Mbaye attracts Liverpool transfer interest

Liverpool have reportedly added Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ibrahim Mbaye to their list of transfer targets, with the Premier League club also maintaining an interest in his team-mate Bradley Barcola.

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool’s interest in PSG extends beyond Barcola, with 18-year-old Senegalese player Mbaye also attracting attention from the English club.

Liverpool are understood to have already made contact with Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, who represents Mbaye.

The teenager is currently under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until the summer of 2028, meaning the French champions remain in a strong position regarding his future.

Mbaye’s reported emergence as a Liverpool target adds another PSG player to the Premier League club’s list of interests.

The Reds’ interest in Barcola had already been reported, but Romano’s latest information indicates that Mbaye is also being considered by the English side.

For the Senegalese youngster, the interest represents another indication of the attention surrounding his future as he continues his development at one of Europe’s leading clubs.

Mbaye, who is represented by Mendes, still has two years remaining on his current PSG contract beyond the current campaign.

That agreement runs until 2028, leaving PSG with control over his situation unless an agreement is reached with an interested club.

Liverpool’s reported contact with Mendes suggests that the club have begun exploring the possibility of a move, although no transfer agreement has been reported.

The Premier League side are therefore monitoring a player who remains tied to PSG for the foreseeable future.

The interest also creates an intriguing connection between Mbaye and Barcola, with Liverpool reportedly following both players at the French club.

While Barcola has attracted considerable attention, Mbaye’s inclusion in Liverpool’s plans means the Senegalese teenager could also become part of the transfer discussions involving PSG.

At 18, Mbaye remains at an early stage of his career, but his current contract means any potential move would require negotiations between the clubs.

For now, PSG retain Mbaye under contract until the summer of 2028, while Liverpool have reportedly made an initial approach through his representative.

The situation is therefore one to watch as Liverpool continue to assess their options.

With Mbaye’s future tied to PSG and Mendes representing the young Senegalese player, any further progress would depend on developments between the interested parties.

Liverpool’s reported interest in both Mbaye and Barcola could make PSG an important club to watch in the Premier League side’s transfer activity.
