Ahmed El Sharkawi strengthens Dayrout SC defence after Cleopatra U23 exit

Egyptian centre-back Ahmed El Sharkawi has joined Dayrout SC from Cleopatra U23 on a free transfer, completing his move to the club on 15 August 2026.

The 21-year-old defender switches clubs after one season with Cleopatra U23, having arrived there from Alexandria U21 on 1 July 2025. His latest move represents the next step in a career that has so far been spent within the Egyptian game.

El Sharkawi’s position is centre-back, and he joins Dayrout SC after making one recorded appearance in the Egyptian League Cup. That outing amounted to one minute of playing time, while he has not recorded an appearance in the other competitions included in his career record.

His spell at Cleopatra U23 followed his time with Alexandria U21, giving him experience in two youth-level club environments before his move to Dayrout SC. The switch was completed at the start of the 2026-27 season and is recorded as a free transfer.

El Sharkawi was born on 1 January 2005 and represents Egypt at national level through his club registration with Dayrout SC. He now moves into a new defensive setting at a club that becomes his third recorded side since leaving Alexandria U21.

The defender’s transfer comes without a disclosed contract expiry date, so the length of his agreement with Dayrout SC has not been established. No transfer fee is attached to the move, which was completed without a payment from the incoming club.

El Sharkawi has therefore left Cleopatra U23 after one season and begun the 2026-27 campaign with Dayrout SC. The Egypt defender’s free transfer was completed on 15 August 2026.
