Rayan Aït-Nouri attracts Juventus interest

Juventus have reportedly placed Manchester City defender Rayan Aït-Nouri on their shortlist as they search for a new option on the left side of their defence.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian club are considering the Algeria international alongside Spanish defender Álvaro Carreras as they assess their options for the position.

Aït-Nouri’s recent pre-season performances for Manchester City have strengthened his profile, although a move away from the Premier League club appears difficult to envisage at this stage.

The 25-year-old has impressed since returning from the 2026 World Cup and has made an encouraging start to preparations under manager Enzo Maresca.

Aït-Nouri made his mark during Manchester City’s meeting with a K League All-Star side, starting the match and scoring the opening goal in a 3-1 victory.

The goal was his first since joining Manchester City and provided an early indication of his attacking contribution from the left side.

He continued his impressive pre-season form in the next match against Atletico Madrid. Aït-Nouri came off the bench and found the net again as City recorded another 3-1 victory.

The Algerian has therefore scored twice during pre-season, giving him an encouraging platform ahead of the new campaign.

His performances have also attracted attention from Juventus, who are assessing potential additions to their left flank.

The Italian club’s interest comes as Aït-Nouri continues to settle into life at Manchester City. His performances during the club’s preparations have provided further evidence of his ability to contribute in attacking areas while operating from the left side.

Juventus are understood to have identified him as one of their possible targets, with Carreras also featuring on their shortlist.

However, despite the reported interest from the Italian club, a departure from Manchester City currently appears unlikely.

Aït-Nouri’s strong pre-season has instead put him in a positive position as the new season approaches. His two goals have been among the highlights of his preparations and have given him additional momentum heading into the campaign.

The Algeria international will now look to build on that form when competitive football resumes, while Juventus continue to assess their options for the left side of their defence.

For now, Aït-Nouri remains a Manchester City player, but his recent performances have ensured that his name is attracting attention beyond England.
