France and Central African Republic midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath has joined Hull City from Austrian club Salzburg in a €4m transfer.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a contract with the English club running until 30 June 2031. Gourna-Douath is right-footed, stands 1.85m tall and moves to Hull after returning to Salzburg at the end of a loan spell with French side Le Havre AC.

Gourna-Douath spent the first half of 2025-26 on loan at Roma before joining Le Havre in January. He returned to Salzburg on 30 June, before completing his move to Hull City on 15 August.

The transfer brings an end to his time in Austria, where he joined Salzburg from Saint-Etienne in July 2022 for €13m. He made the move after progressing through Saint-Etienne’s youth and reserve sides, having begun his development with US Senart and US Torcy.
