Christopher Nkunku transfer rumour: Leipzig explore reunion with AC Milan forward
French forward Christopher Nkunku is the subject of a rumoured move from AC Milan to Leipzig, with the Bundesliga club linked with a return for the 28-year-old.
Nkunku joined Milan from Chelsea on 30 August 2025 in a transfer worth €37m. He remains under contract with the Italian club until 30 June 2030, meaning Leipzig would have to negotiate a permanent deal rather than wait for his contract to expire.
The France and DR Congo national has a €25m market value and has scored seven goals with three assists in 32 Serie A appearances. His broader record in Germany includes 47 goals and 43 assists in 119 Bundesliga matches, while he also won the Bundesliga’s top-scorer award after scoring 16 goals in the 2022-23 season with Leipzig.
Nkunku spent four seasons at Leipzig after leaving Paris St-Germain in 2019, establishing the most productive period of his senior career before moving to Chelsea in 2023. He won the German Cup twice during his time with the club and was named Footballer of the Year in Germany in 2022.
He also won the 2025 Club World Cup and Conference League with Chelsea before his move to Milan.
The reported interest comes with Nkunku tied to Milan for four more seasons, and the rumour remains unconfirmed.
