Moroccan outfit Kawkab Marrakech secure signing of defender Nabil Khali
Moroccan club Kawkab Marrakech have announced the signing of Moroccan-French defender Nabil Khali ahead of the new season.
The 27-year-old arrives with experience from several European leagues and is expected to provide Kawkab with additional quality and versatility on the left side of the team.
Khali is capable of operating as both a left-back and a winger, giving the Marrakech-based club another flexible option ahead of the new campaign.
The Moroccan-French player began his football development in France, progressing through the youth ranks of OGC Nice before going on to feature for a number of clubs in the lower divisions of French football.
He later moved abroad in search of further experience, joining Slovenian side Tabor Sežana before continuing his career in Moldova with FC Milsami Orhei.
Khali enjoyed an impressive first half of the previous season with Milsami, making 16 appearances across domestic league and European competitions.
During that period, he contributed three goals and six assists, performances that reportedly attracted interest from several clubs.
His displays eventually earned him a move to Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in January, with the Casablanca club securing his services on a free transfer from Milsami.
Khali signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Wydad before now moving on to Kawkab Marrakech.
His latest transfer represents another chapter in a career that has taken him across several European football environments before returning to Morocco.
Kawkab Marrakech will be hoping that Khali can bring his European experience, attacking contribution and positional versatility to the squad.
The club believe his ability to operate in multiple roles could prove particularly valuable as they prepare for the demands of the new season.
With his combination of defensive and attacking qualities, Khali is expected to give Kawkab Marrakech greater options on the left flank as the club continues to build its squad during the current transfer window.
