Monaco reject Crystal Palace bid for Lamine Camara

Crystal Palace have made a strong move for Lamine Camara, but AS Monaco have rejected an offer worth more than €40 million for the Senegalese midfielder.

The Principality club are reportedly demanding €50 million before considering his departure.

According to the BBC, Palace submitted a verbal proposal exceeding £35 million, equivalent to more than €40 million. Monaco immediately turned it down, maintaining that Camara’s value is closer to the higher figure.

The 22-year-old remains a priority target for Palace manager Pierre Sage, who is keen to add the midfielder to his squad. Camara is under contract with Monaco until 2029 and occupies an important place in the club’s sporting plans.

Monaco’s negotiating position has strengthened following the expected transfer of Folarin Balogun to Tottenham for approximately €60 million. With that deal likely to provide significant income, Monaco are under less pressure to sell another key player this summer.

Palace are not the only English club monitoring Camara. Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have also been linked with the Senegal international, increasing competition for his signature. However, the Eagles must now decide whether to raise their offer substantially and approach Monaco’s €50 million valuation before the transfer window closes.
