Egyptian giants Al Ahly agree deal to re-sign midfielder Akram Tawfik

Egyptian giants Al Ahly have reached an agreement to bring back midfielder Akram Tawfik during the ongoing summer transfer window.

The Red Castle have moved to secure the return of the versatile Egyptian international after he parted ways with Qatari side Al Shamal, paving the way for his comeback to the club where he previously enjoyed a successful spell.

The 28-year-old had been strongly tipped to rejoin the Egyptian champions as part of their plans to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.

As per reports, the enterprising midfielder has already signed a three-year contract with the Cairo giants ahead of the new season.

Al Ahly are currently holding their preparations in Spain as they build towards the new season, and Tawfik is expected to join his new teammates once the remaining travel arrangements are completed.

His return comes after Al Ahly lost Tunisian international Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan, who moved to Al Shamal, with Tawfik viewed as an important addition to the squad following the departure.

Tawfik’s versatility is expected to provide Al Ahly with another option in midfield and further strengthen the team’s squad ahead of a demanding campaign.

The Egyptian international previously established himself as an important player for Al Ahly before leaving for Qatar, and his return is expected to be welcomed by the club’s supporters.
