Hull City linked with French-Central African Republic midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath

French and Central African Republic midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath is being linked with a move from Salzburg to Hull City.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder remains under contract with the Austrian club until 30 June 2027, but Hull have emerged as a possible destination during the current transfer window. Gourna-Douath’s market value is listed at €6m.

Gourna-Douath has not made an appearance for Salzburg this season, with the club having played two Bundesliga matches, one Europa League qualifying fixture and one Austrian Cup game.

He returned to Salzburg at the end of June after completing a loan spell with French club Le Havre AC. That followed an earlier temporary move to Roma during the 2024-25 season, making the Hull link the latest development in a period that has seen the midfielder spend time away from his parent club.

Gourna-Douath joined Salzburg from Saint-Etienne in July 2022 in a transfer reported at €13m. He helped Salzburg win the Austrian championship in the 2022-23 season.

The midfielder’s current situation at Salzburg, combined with his contract running until 2027, means any move to Hull would require an agreement between the clubs rather than a free transfer. No transfer has been confirmed, and Gourna-Douath remains a Salzburg player.
