Como consider Serie A move for Stade Rennais striker Breel Embolo
Swiss-Cameroonian forward Breel Embolo is being linked with a move from Stade Rennais to Como in Serie A.
The 29-year-old centre-forward joined Rennes from Monaco on 1 September 2025 in a deal worth €13m. He has a contract with the Ligue 1 club until 30 June 2029, meaning any move would involve negotiations between the two clubs rather than a free transfer.
Embolo’s current market valuation is €15m, placing the potential deal close to the fee Rennes paid for him last summer. He had spent three seasons at Monaco after moving there from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2022.
The Switzerland and Cameroon-born striker began his senior career with Basel, where he won three Swiss league titles before moving to Schalke 04 in 2016. He was also named the Swiss club’s best young player in 2015.
Como, who play in Italy’s top division, are the club linked with the move, but the rumour does not indicate that an agreement has been reached or that personal terms have been settled. Embolo remains a Rennes player, with his long-term contract keeping him at the club through the end of the 2028-29 season.
