Wilson Samake joins VPS as Finnish club secure Mali-France forward
Mali-France centre-forward Wilson Samake has joined Finnish club VPS from Bandirma Spor on loan, completing a move that runs until 31 December 2026.
The 22-year-old, who was born in Vitry-sur-Seine, moves to the Veikkausliiga side after beginning the 2026-27 campaign with Bandirma Spor in Turkey’s 1. Lig. The transfer was completed on 12 August, with Samake’s temporary spell at VPS scheduled to end at the close of the calendar year.
Samake is a right-footed striker standing 1.82m tall. His arrival gives VPS an additional option in the centre-forward position as they strengthen their attacking group for the remainder of the Finnish season.
The move follows a series of recent loans for Samake. He spent part of the 2025-26 campaign with Arda Kardzhali, joining the Bulgarian club from Bandirma Spor in January before returning to his parent club at the end of June.
Samake moved to Bandirma Spor from Stade Rennais in July 2025 on a free transfer. Before leaving France, he had been part of the Rennes system for several years, progressing through the club’s youth teams and later playing for Rennes B.
His development also included a loan spell at LB Chateauroux during the 2024-25 season. He joined Chateauroux from Rennes B in October 2024 before returning to the reserve side in January, with the transfer to Stade Rennais following later that month.
Samake began his youth career with AS Orly before moving to Rennes in 2018. He subsequently progressed from Rennes’ youth sides into the club’s reserve structure, building his experience in French football before moving abroad.
The transfer brings together a player with experience in France, Turkey and Bulgaria and a VPS side competing in Finland’s top division. Samake’s market value is listed at €600,000, although no transfer fee has been disclosed for his move to Finland.
VPS have therefore secured Samake’s services on loan from Bandirma Spor, with the agreement in place until 31 December 2026.
