Sevilla FC end interest in Amine Gouiri over €30m asking price

Sevilla FC have ended their interest in Algeria striker Amine Gouiri after being told the French club wants 30 million euros for his transfer.

The Andalusian club had recently made enquiries about Gouiri’s situation and was exploring the possibility of signing the international forward. French journalist Santi Aouna confirmed Sevilla FC’s interest in a post on the social media platform X.

However, the asking price has led the Spanish club to abandon plans to move into advanced negotiations for the player. Sevilla FC were informed that the French club would only allow Gouiri to leave if its demand for a €30m fee was met.

Gouiri remains under contract with the club from the south of France until 2029. That long-term agreement has strengthened the French side’s position as it considers approaches for the striker.

The 24-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, making 22 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. His performances have attracted attention from several clubs across Europe, with interest particularly strong in Italy.

Como, Napoli and Milan are among the clubs reported to have identified Gouiri as a potential target. Sevilla FC had also examined the possibility of bringing the Algeria international to Andalusia, but the financial terms involved have now caused the club to step away from the pursuit.

Gouiri’s contract situation means any interested club would need to meet the French side’s valuation before negotiations could progress. Sevilla FC have decided that the €30m asking price is too high to continue discussions at this stage.

The striker’s recent form remains the main reason behind the interest in his services. His combination of goals and assists last season made him a target for a number of clubs, while his status as an Algeria international has added to his profile in the transfer market.

For now, Sevilla FC will not pursue an advanced deal for Gouiri, leaving the player under contract with his current French club through to 2029. The Andalusian side’s initial interest has therefore ended without negotiations reaching that stage.
