South African youngster Tylon Smith closes in on New England Revolution move

Queens Park Rangers are reportedly ready to part ways with South African international defender Tylon Smith, with the player closing in on a move to Major League Soccer side New England Revolution.

As per reports, the Championship outfit have grown increasingly frustrated with the defender, who joined the Championship club two seasons ago from Premiership side Stellenbosch FC.

Smith has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter since his arrival, making it difficult for him to secure a consistent role in the QPR setup.

With the club now looking to off-load the 24-year-old, a temporary move appears to be the most likely solution, with loan options being considered for the South African.

New England Revolution have emerged as his likely destination, with the proposed agreement understood to be a loan deal that would include an option for the MLS club to make the move permanent at the end of the spell.

Smith remains an established figure at international level and was part of the South Africa squad that featured at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year under former Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos.
