Couhaib Driouech set for Rangers medical after PSV agree transfer
Couhaib Driouech is expected to travel to Scotland for a medical after PSV Eindhoven reached an agreement with Rangers over the Moroccan winger’s transfer.
The deal follows an agreement on personal terms between Driouech and Rangers, with the two clubs now also having settled the financial details of the move.
According to Eindhovens Dagblad, Driouech will fly to Scotland shortly and undergo his medical on Tuesday, 11 August. The transfer is therefore progressing towards completion, although the player must first pass the examination before the next stage of the agreement can be finalised.
If the medical is successful, Rangers will offer Driouech a four-year contract running until the middle of 2030. The proposed length of the deal would commit the player to the Scottish club for the next four seasons once the transfer is completed.
PSV Eindhoven and Rangers had already reached a verbal agreement over the move before the latest development. The Scottish club is expected to pay between €8m and €8.5m for Driouech.
That fee would give PSV Eindhoven a profit of about €5m from the transfer. The financial return is a significant factor in the deal for the Eindhoven club, while Rangers would be securing the winger after agreeing terms with both the player and his current club.
The process now depends on Driouech completing his medical in Scotland. A successful examination would allow the proposed four-year contract to be offered and would take the transfer closer to its formal conclusion.
For now, the agreement remains the latest step in a move that has advanced from personal terms to a club-to-club settlement. Driouech’s journey to Scotland and his medical on 11 August are the next scheduled events in the process.
Rangers are understood to have agreed to pay the amount required by PSV Eindhoven, with the final figure set to fall within the €8m to €8.5m range. PSV’s expected profit from the sale would be €5m.
Driouech’s proposed contract would run until mid-2030 if all the conditions are met. The immediate requirement is for the Moroccan winger to pass his medical, after which the remaining steps towards the transfer can proceed.
