Eduardo Camavinga faces uncertain Real Madrid future

Eduardo Camavinga’s future at Real Madrid has become uncertain as Jose Mourinho prepares to reduce his squad before the transfer window closes.

The Portuguese coach reportedly wants to work with only 20 available players, while the current group contains 26, meaning three more departures may be necessary.

Camavinga is among those whose position could change, despite making a positive impression during pre-season. Mourinho is understood to appreciate both the midfielder’s performances and his commitment in training. The France international, however, wants to remain in Madrid and continue his development at the club.

Real Madrid are not actively pushing Camavinga towards the exit, but they could consider a sale if a major offer arrives. No proposal has yet reached a level that would convince the Spanish giants to seriously examine his departure.

The midfielder’s market value has also fallen considerably. Transfermarkt currently estimates Camavinga at €50 million, half the €100 million valuation he reached in June 2024. Even so, Madrid are expected to demand a substantial fee before considering negotiations.

Camavinga’s injury history has complicated his progress, but Mourinho still appears to trust him. The squad reduction, rather than a lack of sporting confidence, could ultimately determine whether the 23-year-old stays or leaves.
