Wydad president Ibrahim El Assri is set to meet members of the club’s medical staff to address a disagreement involving Morocco international Hakim Ziyech.

According to Almounatakhab, El Assri is expected to hear from those involved and examine the circumstances behind the dispute, which has reportedly created concern within the club ahead of the new season.

The disagreement is not believed to have been caused by any professional shortcomings from Wydad’s medical team, which is understood to be operating according to the club’s established procedures.

Instead, the issue reportedly centres on differences in approach and communication, with Ziyech said to prefer a particular method of medical follow-up.

Ziyech refuses medical team

The situation escalated when Ziyech reportedly refused to continue working with Wydad’s current medical staff.

That prompted the club’s management to intervene in an attempt to prevent the disagreement from affecting the player’s preparations or creating further tension within the squad.

Ziyech had previously expressed dissatisfaction with Wydad’s decision to part ways with doctor Mehdi Idrissi, who left the Moroccan club to join the medical team at French side Le Havre.

The Morocco star reportedly preferred to continue working with the previous medical staff and had asked Wydad’s management to reconsider its decision.

Wydad seek compromise

Despite Ziyech’s concerns, Wydad opted to retain their current medical team.

El Assri’s intervention is now aimed at finding a solution that satisfies the player’s medical needs while allowing the club’s staff to continue operating within its established structure.

The Wydad president is also keen to ensure the disagreement does not disrupt preparations for the upcoming campaign or affect the stability of the dressing room.

Finding common ground would allow Ziyech to continue his preparations without further tension while helping Wydad maintain focus ahead of the new season.
