In spite of securing a commendable 2-1 victory in Ethiopia, Stephen Keshi revealed that his team was not overly exuberant ahead of the return match. “We must approach the home game against Ethiopia as if it were our first encounter,” he declared, although not concealing his considerable satisfaction.
Emmanuel Emenike, with a well-executed double, including a penalty goal late in the match, ensured the Super Eagles returned to Abuja with smiles. “Ethiopia played exceptionally well today,” acknowledged Keshi, adding, “We aimed to gauge their performance on their home turf.”
