Krepin Diatta: Senegal midfielder linked with Schalke 04 move
Krepin Diatta, the Senegalese midfielder currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
The 27-year-old is a right midfielder and has a listed market value of €6m. The reported interest comes with Diatta’s club status unresolved after he was listed as without a club on 10 August 2026.
Diatta previously established himself at Club Brugge, where he won three Belgian league titles, including the 2020-21 championship. He also helped the Belgian club win the Belgian Super Cup in 2018-19.
The player, who was born in Dakar on 25 February 1999, is a Senegal international and prefers to play on the right side of midfield. He is right-footed and stands 1.73m tall.
A move to Schalke would take Diatta to the Bundesliga, although the available information does not indicate whether negotiations have taken place or whether an agreement is close. No transfer fee, contract length or probability has been established for the proposed switch.
Diatta’s honours also include being named best young player while representing Senegal in 2019 and Sarpsborg 08 in 2017. His record at Club Brugge remains the clearest indication of his recent club success, with three league titles secured during his time in Belgium.
For now, the rumour links the unattached Senegal midfielder with Schalke 04, but the move remains unconfirmed.
