Como prepare €30m offer for Marseille striker Amine Gouiri
Olympique Marseille are reportedly prepared to sell Amine Gouiri, with Serie A club Como emerging as a serious contender for the Algeria international.
Marseille have set an asking price of €30 million, yet the figure does not appear to have discouraged the Italian side.
Como finished fourth in Serie A last season and could offer Gouiri an opportunity to compete in the Champions League under manager Cesc Fàbregas. The proposed move could also bring him back together with former Lyon teammate Maxence Caqueret, adding another attractive element to the transfer.
Reports indicate that Como are preparing an offer for both Marseille and the player. Gouiri could reportedly earn €4.55 million per year in Italy, a salary that would make the switch financially appealing.
Marseille’s difficult financial situation means several important players could leave this summer. Geronimo Rulli, Facundo Medina and Nayef Aguerd are among those linked with exits, while Leonardo Balerdi and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg have also been mentioned.
Gouiri’s contract runs until 2029, but the forward has acknowledged uncertainty over his future. “I am under contract, but I understand that the door is open for everyone,” he said.
Despite his attachment to Marseille, the sporting and financial advantages of Como could make the proposal difficult to reject.
