Mohamed Abdelmonem weighs future

Mohamed Abdelmonem is considering his future at French club Nice amid strong interest from Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC during the current summer transfer window.

The Egypt international is attracting serious attention from Pyramids, who are determined to bring the defender back to the Egyptian league and are prepared to meet his financial demands to complete the deal.

Abdelmonem has reportedly received an offer from Pyramids worth more than $2 million, making the Egyptian club one of the strongest contenders for his signature.

There is currently no offer from a Saudi Arabian club for the defender, despite previous speculation linking him with a move to the Gulf.

Pyramids’ interest has intensified in recent days, with the club continuing to put pressure on the player in an attempt to convince him to return to Egypt.

However, Abdelmonem’s immediate preference is to remain in Europe and continue his career with Nice.

The defender wants to stay with the French club at least until January as he looks to fight for regular playing time and establish himself in the team.

Should he fail to secure enough opportunities during the first half of the season, Abdelmonem could then reconsider his situation and explore the possibility of leaving Nice during the January transfer window.

A return to Egypt could be an option, but the financial terms involved could make a potential move to Al Ahly particularly difficult.

If Abdelmonem decides to return to Al Ahly, he is reportedly expected to demand financial compensation in the region of $2 million, similar to the offer presented by Pyramids.

Such a financial commitment would reportedly be difficult for Al Ahly to meet, potentially giving Pyramids an advantage in their pursuit of the former Red Devils defender.

Pyramids are understood to be ready to meet the conditions requested by Abdelmonem and remain determined to complete the transfer.

The defender, however, has yet to make a final decision on his future, with his current priority remaining his career in Europe.

Abdelmonem joined Nice after establishing himself as an important defender in Egyptian football and has continued to represent the national team.

His situation at Nice will therefore be closely monitored in the coming months, with his playing opportunities likely to play a major role in determining whether he remains in France or considers a return to Egypt.

For now, Pyramids remain firmly in the race, while Abdelmonem is weighing up his options and prioritising regular European football before making a definitive decision about his next move.
