Paris FC and Olympique Lyonnais battle for Senegal international Krepin Diatta

Krepin Diatta is attracting interest from several European clubs as the transfer window enters its final weeks, with Paris FC and Olympique Lyonnais among the teams monitoring the Senegal international.

According to information from Papa Ousmane Kasse, both French clubs are considering a move for the 26-year-old, who has been without a club since 1 July. No official offer has yet been submitted, although initial contact is reported to have taken place with Paris FC.

The Parisian club is prioritising reinforcements on the right side of its squad and views Diatta as a serious option. His ability to operate in several positions is understood to be one of the main attractions for the club’s decision-makers.

Diatta can play as a right midfielder, right winger or right-back, giving Paris FC additional flexibility across the flank. The club is therefore assessing whether his versatility and experience could help strengthen its squad ahead of the new campaign.

Olympique Lyonnais are also studying the Senegalese player’s profile. The Rhone-based club sees Diatta as an interesting opportunity in the market, particularly if a player leaves its current options in that area of the team.

His experience at the highest level, together with his capacity to perform in multiple roles, could fit Lyon’s requirements. However, the situation remains open and could develop over the coming weeks as clubs continue to assess their transfer plans.

Paris FC and Olympique Lyonnais face competition for Diatta’s signature. Olympique de Marseille, Schalke 04, Everton and Ipswich Town are also said to be following the player, according to the same source.

Africafoot has reported exclusively that Crystal Palace is among the favourites to sign the “Lion of Teranga”. Diatta’s market value is estimated at 6 million euros, while he previously earned an annual salary of 3,000,000 euros equivalent to 1,950,000,000 FCFA at Monaco.

The former Monaco player’s availability has increased interest from clubs looking for an experienced and adaptable option. Despite the reported attention from several sides, no agreement has been announced and the next stage of the transfer process remains undecided.

Olympique Lyonnais are preparing to begin their French league campaign against Toulouse in the first matchday. Betting company 1xBet lists Olympique Lyonnais as favourites for that fixture, with odds of 1.94 for a home win. A draw is priced at 3.40, while a Toulouse victory is listed at 3.20.

The match comes as Lyon continue preparations for the season, while Diatta’s future remains one of the transfer stories being watched by clubs in France and abroad.
