Carragher: Liverpool don’t need to replace Mohamed Salah

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes the Reds do not need to sign a direct replacement for Mohamed Salah following the Egyptian forward’s departure from the club.

Salah brought his highly successful Liverpool career to an end earlier this year after establishing himself as one of the greatest players in the club’s modern history.

The Egyptian enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at Anfield, winning nine major honours, including two Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.

Following his departure, Salah attracted interest from several clubs before eventually joining Turkish side Trabzonspor on a two-year contract.

Despite losing one of their most influential attacking players, Carragher does not believe Liverpool should rush into the transfer market in search of a direct replacement.

“Liverpool doesn’t need a player to replace Salah. The solution comes from the team itself and the coach, so I don’t think the club needs a deal to replace him,” Carragher said in an interview with Yalla Kora.

The former England international believes Liverpool already possess enough attacking quality within their squad to cope with the departure of their former captain.

According to Carragher, rather than attempting to find another player capable of replicating everything Salah provided, Liverpool should rely on the collective strength of the squad and the tactical approach of the coaching staff.

He believes the responsibility will now be shared among the existing attacking players, with the team and coach expected to develop a new approach following Salah’s exit.

Carragher also paid tribute to Salah’s contribution to Liverpool, describing the Egyptian as a loyal player who leaves behind an impressive legacy despite the difficulties surrounding the final stage of his career at Anfield.

“Salah was a loyal player to Liverpool despite the recent crises at the end of his career, and he left a successful legacy with the team,” Carragher concluded.

Salah’s departure marks the end of a remarkable chapter at Liverpool, where he became a key figure in the club’s return to domestic and European success.

The Reds will now begin a new era without their former captain, with Carragher confident that the club already has the resources and quality required to move forward without making a direct replacement for the Egyptian superstar.
