Trabzonspor sends message to Egyptian after Mohamed Salah signing

Trabzonspor have sent a special message to the Egyptians following the arrival of Mohamed Salah, who joined the club on a free transfer.

Salah completed his move to Trabzonspor on a two-year contract, with the Turkish side expressing their appreciation for the overwhelming reaction to the signing from supporters in Egypt and around the world.

The former Liverpool star has also made history with his move, becoming the fourth Egyptian player to represent Trabzonspor after Ayman Abdel Aziz, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet and Sayed Moawad.

Trabzonspor thanked fans and well-wishers for the numerous messages of congratulations received following the completion of the transfer.

“After completing the signing of Mohamed Salah, we extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for the messages, congratulations and good wishes that have reached our club from all over the world, especially from Egypt. Today, we feel a lot of joy and pride to see this same enthusiasm filling cities from Trabzon to Cairo, from Alexandria to London, and beyond.”

The Turkish club stressed that football has the power to connect people and bring together communities from different countries and cultures.

“For us, football is not just a match between two teams; it is capable of uniting countries and cities, building bridges of communication between different cultures, and bringing together distant places,” the statement added.

Trabzonspor also used the occasion to highlight the city’s rich history, culture and strong football heritage while inviting supporters from around the world to visit Trabzon.

“Thanks to the city’s rich history spanning thousands of years, its stunning views of the Black Sea, its unique culture, and a lifestyle in which football is deeply rooted in the city’s heritage, Trabzon offers an unparalleled sporting experience.”

The club added: “Trabzonspor is the heartbeat of this city, and now we warmly invite our fans from all over the world to visit Trabzon, experience this unique connection for themselves, and join us at Babara Park, the stronghold of the greatest club in the world.”

The statement concluded with another message of welcome to supporters regardless of where they come from.

“Wherever you come from, our doors will be open, our city will be open, our stands will be open.”

Salah has already received a memorable reception from Trabzonspor supporters, with thousands of fans filling the stands of Barbara Park Stadium during his official unveiling last Thursday.

The Egyptian forward will wear the iconic number 10 shirt at Trabzonspor as he begins a new chapter in his career in the Turkish Super Lig.

Salah and his new teammates are now preparing for their first competitive fixture of the new season, with Trabzonspor set to face Kasimpasa in the opening round of the league campaign.
