Al Ahly raise Mahmoud Salah bid as Ghazl El Mahalla demand 50m Egyptian pounds

Al Ahly have increased their offer for Ghazl El Mahalla forward Mahmoud Salah to 30m Egyptian pounds, but the club remain unwilling to sell unless their valuation of 50m Egyptian pounds is met in cash, according to a source close to the negotiations.

The two clubs are discussing a possible deal for the 18-year-old during the current summer transfer window. However, Ghazl El Mahalla’s position has not changed despite the improved proposal from Al Ahly.

A club source told FilGoal.com: “Al Ahly’s offer to sign Mahmoud Salah has reached 30 million pounds, but the club is sticking to its position and wants 50 million pounds in cash to sell the player.”

The source added that Ghazl El Mahalla are not prepared to rush into a decision over Salah’s future because their preferred option is to secure a move for him to a European club.

“We do not want to rush into selling Mahmoud Salah because our first choice is to market him for a move to Europe, but so far we have not received suitable offers for him,” the source said.

Salah’s future is expected to be decided within the next 48 hours, with the deadline for registration in Egypt approaching and limited time remaining for the negotiations to be completed.

The forward is a member of Egypt’s youth national team for players born in 2007 and is part of the Ghazl El Mahalla first-team squad.

He featured 28 times for the club last season, scoring four goals and providing three assists. Those appearances came during his first-team involvement at the age of 18, as Ghazl El Mahalla considered offers for a player they believe could attract interest from abroad.

For now, the club’s asking price remains 50m Egyptian pounds in cash. Al Ahly’s current proposal falls 20m pounds short of that valuation, while Ghazl El Mahalla also continue to assess whether a European opportunity could emerge before the Egyptian registration window closes.

Al Ahly have already strengthened their attacking options this summer by signing Moroccan forward Sofiane Benjdida and Algerian forward Monsef Bekrar. Their interest in Salah indicates that negotiations over further additions to the squad remain active as the deadline draws closer.
