Zimbabwe international Jonah Fabisch joins Golden Arrows after Kaizer Chiefs links

Golden Arrows have officially unveiled Zimbabwe international midfielder Jonah Fabisch, confirming his move to the Betway Premiership club after he was linked with a possible switch to Kaizer Chiefs.

Fabisch’s arrival at Golden Arrows follows reports last month that the 24-year-old was in Durban while discussions about a move to Kaizer Chiefs were circulating. The Zimbabwean has now completed his transfer and signed an agreement with the club.

The deal brings an end to the uncertainty surrounding Fabisch’s next destination after his presence in Durban prompted speculation about a move to one of South Africa’s most prominent clubs. Instead, the midfielder will continue his career with Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership.

Fabisch was previously contracted to German fourth-tier side FC Erzgebirge Aue before moving to South Africa. His time in Germany preceded his latest step into South African football, where he will now represent Golden Arrows.

The midfielder has also established himself at international level with Zimbabwe. He has won 13 caps for the national team, including three appearances at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

His involvement at the continental tournament added to his experience before the move to Golden Arrows was formally announced. The club’s confirmation now clarifies that Fabisch’s immediate future lies with the Betway Premiership side rather than Kaizer Chiefs.

Reports of Chiefs’ interest had raised the possibility of a move to the Soweto club, but Golden Arrows have secured the signature of the Zimbabwe international. Fabisch’s unveiling marks the latest stage in a career that has taken him from German fourth-tier football to South Africa and international competition with Zimbabwe.

Fabisch will therefore continue his development in the Betway Premiership after making the move from FC Erzgebirge Aue. His record of 13 appearances for Zimbabwe, three of them at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, provides the national-team midfielder with experience as he begins this new chapter with Golden Arrows.
