Medhi Benatia opens door to future PSG role

Medhi Benatia has once again expressed his desire to work for Paris Saint-Germain, although he does not expect the opportunity to arrive immediately.

The former Morocco international recently left his position as Olympique Marseille’s football director after a difficult spell at the club.

Born in the Paris region, Benatia already enjoys a good relationship with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. That connection could eventually open the door to a role at the capital club, where Benatia would like to return to football in the future.

“I have a good relationship with Nasser Al-Khelaifi. So, if he calls me in a few years and it is right for me, I would go,” Benatia said.

The former defender insists his time at Marseille would not prevent him from joining PSG, despite the historic rivalry between the two clubs. “I tried to serve OM in the club’s interest. PSG are the rival, so what? We are professionals, we work. I do what I want,” he explained.

Benatia had previously hinted at a PSG move after announcing his resignation online following the club’s heavy victory over Marseille. Although he remained until the season ended, his relationship with Olympique Marseille ultimately came to a close.
