Neom sign Jordan international Mohannad Abu Taha ahead of Saudi Pro League debut
Neom have signed Jordan international Mohannad Abu Taha as they continue to strengthen their squad before their first season in the Saudi Professional League.
The Saudi club confirmed the 23-year-old’s arrival on Saturday, publishing a video of Abu Taha wearing the team’s shirt. Neom accompanied the announcement with the message: “The son of Al-Nashama has arrived… Mohannad Abu Taha at Neom.”
Abu Taha becomes the latest Jordanian international to join Neom and will provide another option as the club prepares for its debut campaign in Saudi Arabia’s top flight. His move represents his second professional experience in the Roshn Saudi League, having previously played for Al-Orouba.
The midfielder began his career in the youth system at Jordanian club Al-Wehdat before moving to Iraqi side Al-Karkh. He then joined Al-Orouba on loan at the start of 2025, before subsequently moving to another Iraqi club, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya.
Abu Taha was also included in Jordan’s squad for the 2026 World Cup, giving him experience at international level before his move to Neom.
The club have also added 21-year-old Khaled Al-Ramah, who has joined from Al-Fayha. His transfer further increases the number of new arrivals at Neom as the club prepares for its opening season among Saudi Arabia’s leading teams.
Neom’s recruitment comes ahead of their first league fixture, when they will face Al-Fayha on 14 August. The match will mark the beginning of the club’s campaign in the Saudi Professional League and will also bring Abu Taha up against his former club.
Former Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi is working as Neom’s assistant sporting director after retiring from playing football. His role is part of the club’s preparations as it builds its squad and structure before the new season.
Abu Taha’s career has so far taken him through clubs in Jordan, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. After developing at Al-Wehdat, he moved abroad to continue his career at Al-Karkh, joining Al-Orouba on loan in early 2025 before returning to Iraq with Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya. His latest move takes him back to Saudi Arabia, where he will now represent Neom.
The signing was announced by Neom on Saturday, 8 August 2026, in a statement and video shared by the club.
