PSG consider €70m move for Barcelona defender Jules Kounde
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering a summer move for Barcelona defender Jules Kounde as Luis Enrique searches for greater flexibility and experience in his back line.
The French international remains highly regarded by the PSG coach, who reportedly has a specific role in mind for him.
Rather than using Kounde primarily at right-back, Luis Enrique would prefer to deploy him in central defence, the position the player considers his natural role. That tactical plan could make a move to Paris particularly attractive if the 28-year-old wants to return to a more familiar position.
Barcelona may also be more willing to discuss Kounde’s departure than before. The defender’s value is estimated at approximately €70 million, although the Catalan club would still need to decide whether selling an experienced starter makes sporting and financial sense.
PSG could use existing discussions over Ferran Torres to explore a potential double deal with Barcelona. However, negotiations remain uncertain, and Koundé must also be convinced by the prospect of working with Luis Enrique again.
For Paris, the signing would add defensive depth, versatility and leadership. For Barcelona, it would represent a major decision involving one of their most dependable players.
