Bouaddi gives green light as Manchester City and LOSC near transfer breakthrough
Manchester City are in the final stages of negotiations with LOSC over a deal for highly rated midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, with the transfer expected to be worth close to €100m.
According to Foot Mercato, talks between the two clubs have moved forward significantly and an agreement is now considered imminent. The proposed move would represent one of the most notable operations of the summer transfer window.
Bouaddi, who is 18, is regarded as one of the leading talents of his generation and has emerged as Manchester City’s priority target for strengthening their midfield. The Franco-Moroccan has reportedly been persuaded by the sporting project presented by the English club and has already agreed to join the squad managed by Enzo Maresca.
A number of details still need to be settled before the transfer can be officially confirmed. However, unless there is an unexpected change in negotiations, Bouaddi is expected to leave France and begin his Premier League career shortly.
LOSC had been aware that keeping the teenager would be difficult, with several major European clubs showing interest in him. His potential departure would therefore come as little surprise, although the scale of the proposed fee would underline his importance and growing reputation in the game.
Bouaddi is currently valued at €80m by Transfermarkt and remains under contract with LOSC until the summer of 2029. He was born in Senlis and is reported to earn an annual salary of €1.09m in France, equivalent to 708,500,000 FCFA.
The midfielder’s agreement to join Manchester City is understood to have helped move the negotiations into their final phase. The remaining discussions are focused on completing the terms between the clubs before the deal can be announced.
LOSC are due to begin their Ligue 1 campaign against Angers very soon. The club’s immediate focus will be that opening match, although attention around Bouaddi’s future is likely to remain intense while the transfer talks continue.
The betting company 1xBet lists LOSC as favourites for the fixture, with the club priced at 1.60 to win. A draw is priced at 3.55, while an Angers victory is listed at 4.65.
For LOSC, the proposed sale would bring a substantial financial return for a player who is still only 18. For Manchester City, it would mark a major investment in a midfielder viewed as capable of becoming one of the outstanding players of his generation.
With the player’s approval already secured and the two clubs believed to be close to an agreement, Bouaddi could soon complete his move to England. Formal confirmation is still required, but the transfer appears to be approaching its final stages.
