Romelu Lukaku eyes AS Monaco switch as Napoli exit looms

Romelu Lukaku is reportedly considering a move to AS Monaco as he weighs up his next step away from Napoli.

The striker is said to be interested in joining the Ligue 1 side, which would mark his first experience in French football.

According to reports from Italy, Lukaku’s representatives have already made contact with Monaco to explore the possibility of a transfer. The 33-year-old is believed to remain keen on competing in Europe, despite attracting interest from clubs in Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer.

Napoli are prepared to sell the powerful centre-forward, but they are reportedly seeking a fee of €10 million. Monaco would need to meet that valuation or negotiate an alternative structure before a deal can move forward.

Lukaku’s preference for a European destination could give Monaco an advantage over his other suitors. A move to the Principality would also offer the experienced Belgium international a fresh challenge in a major league after his time in Serie A.

Napoli, meanwhile, are already considering potential replacements. Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has emerged as a possible option for the Italian club as they plan for Lukaku’s potential departure.
