Mohamed Salah makes first Trabzonspor training appearance after completing move

Mohamed Salah has made his first appearance in a Trabzonspor training session after completing his move to the Turkish club.

Trabzonspor published photographs showing the Egypt international being welcomed as he arrived for his first session with his new team. Salah was also pictured speaking privately with Fatih Tekke, the club’s manager.

The appearance followed a busy 24 hours for the former Liverpool forward. Salah underwent his medical examination on Wednesday before signing the documents required to join Trabzonspor. He then signed a two-year contract with the Turkish club on Thursday morning.

Later on Thursday evening, Trabzonspor presented Salah to supporters at a ceremony held at the club’s stadium. A large crowd of fans attended the event to welcome the high-profile arrival.

Salah’s move brings to an end a nine-season spell with Liverpool, during which he established himself as one of the club’s most productive players. He made 315 appearances for the Reds, scoring 257 goals and providing 120 assists.

His first training session gives Trabzonspor supporters their first opportunity to see him working alongside his new team-mates following the medical, contract signing and presentation ceremony.

The Egyptian forward’s arrival is the latest stage of a rapid sequence of events that began with his medical examination on Wednesday. Within two days, he had completed the formalities of his transfer, signed his contract, been presented to fans and joined Fatih Tekke’s squad on the training ground.

Salah’s record at Liverpool was central to the attention surrounding his move. Across nine seasons with the club, he scored 257 goals in 315 matches and added 120 assists before switching to Trabzonspor.

The club’s photographs from Thursday’s session showed Salah receiving an official welcome and beginning his work with the squad. His conversation with Tekke also marked his first visible interaction with the manager since joining the Turkish side.

Trabzonspor’s presentation ceremony, held in front of a large home crowd, completed the public introduction of the player before his first involvement in training. The club has now officially welcomed Salah both to its supporters and to its squad.
