Brahim Diaz backs Madrid to shine

Moroccan international Brahim Diaz has expressed confidence in Real Madrid’s ability to challenge for major honours in the upcoming season under new manager Jose Mourinho.

The Spanish giants has struggled in the past two seasons, falling short to rivals Barcelona in the La Liga and European competitions.

However, Diaz, who resumed training last Monday insists he and his teammates are committed to maintaining the club’s winning tradition under Mourinho.

“I was eager to come back and see my teammates. I’m very excited for this season and I’m extremely happy to be back,” Diaz told Real Madrid’s official website.

The 27-year-old highlighted the intensity of the club’s pre-season programme, stressing that the demanding sessions are necessary to ensure the players are physically and mentally prepared for the challenges ahead.

“We are having good training sessions, physically demanding, requiring a lot of effort and high intensity. These preparations are important so that we are in top form at the start of the season, because Real Madrid is always expected to win every match,” he said.

Diaz also praised Mourinho’s influence since taking charge of the Spanish giants, describing the Portuguese manager and his coaching staff as highly experienced and capable of leading the team to further success.

“Things are going well. He and his staff are highly competent. Everyone knows who Mourinho is and what he has achieved, and we want to continue winning with him,” Diaz stated.

According to the Moroccan international, Mourinho has already made his expectations clear to the squad, demanding intensity, discipline and a collective approach despite the abundance of individual talent within the team.

“He always asks us to play with intensity and emphasizes that we have great individual quality, but teamwork and sacrifice for each other are fundamental, because success is achieved when we are a team,” Diaz explained.

The former AC Milan star made it clear that his personal ambitions remain aligned with those of the club, with silverware once again the primary objective for the upcoming season.

“I will give my best in every match. The most important thing for Real Madrid is winning titles; this club always lives to win,” he said.

Having established himself as an important member of the Real Madrid squad in recent seasons, Diaz will be hoping to play a key role as Los Blancos compete on multiple fronts, including La Liga, the UEFA Champions League and domestic cup competitions.

The Moroccan playmaker concluded by revealing that he is in a positive place both on and off the pitch, something he believes will help him perform at his best throughout the season.

“I am very happy and I want to continue enjoying football; it is my passion. My family life is also going very well, and I look forward to continuing to enjoy what I love,” Diaz added.

With pre-season preparations gathering momentum and optimism growing within the camp, Diaz’s comments reflect the confidence and determination inside the Real Madrid dressing room as the club sets its sights on adding more trophies to its illustrious history under Mourinho’s leadership.
