Guinean striker Sidiki Cherif emerges as Stuttgart’s alternative target

VfB Stuttgart have identified Fenerbahce striker Sidiki Cherif as a potential alternative in their search for attacking reinforcements, with negotiations for top target Dzenan Pejcinovic yet to reach a conclusion.

According to Sky Sport, Stuttgart remain determined to strengthen their forward line before the end of the transfer window, although talks with Wolfsburg over Pejcinovic’s transfer are still ongoing.

The Bundesliga side continue to prioritise the signing of Pejcinovic, but Cherif has once again emerged as a serious option should negotiations stall.

Cherif back on Stuttgart’s radar

The 19-year-old striker is no stranger to Stuttgart’s recruitment team, having already attracted interest from the German club during the winter transfer window.

Stuttgart eventually chose to sign Jeremy Arevalo instead, but Sky Sport reports that discussions over a possible move for Cherif have resumed in recent weeks.

Fenerbahce are said to be open to negotiations regarding the young forward, whose contract with the Turkish club runs until 2030.
